Some History : Barclay was the only the second web server created by TextDrive, and was powered on in Dec. 2004 as 70.84.207.162. In August 2005 Barclay’s soul was transferred to new Dell hardware at 207.7.108.37.

TextDrive’s parent company Joyent is currently migrating all users onto the new “shared accelerator” environments based on Sun hardware and virtualization inside Solaris Containers. Soon all of the current users will be dispersed among the new shared accelerators and barclay, having served its purpose, will sail its battered hull into the sunset somewhere off the coast of Sausalito.
